1. Information we collect

Information from Shopify

We may access store information made available through Shopify’s APIs, including product and collection data required to generate and apply SEO content. Depending on the features used, this may include titles, descriptions, existing SEO fields, tags, product type, vendor information, image metadata, and related store configuration.

Merchant-provided settings and content

We may collect settings entered or saved in the app, including brand name, character limits, product type, language, target country, tone, required keywords, banned phrases, AI model selection, and fallback description format.

Generated content

We may generate and store SEO draft content, including meta descriptions, SEO titles, product titles, product descriptions, collection descriptions, collection SEO titles, collection meta descriptions, image alt text, and SEO metafield values.

Technical and usage information

We may automatically collect limited technical information such as app activity logs, request metadata, diagnostic information, and error data needed to maintain, secure, and improve the app.

2. How we use information

We use collected information to provide and operate SEO Content AI, generate SEO drafts, allow merchants to review and apply generated content back to Shopify, create image alt text and SEO metafield values when selected, save merchant settings and draft history, provide support, and improve the service.

3. How AI processing works

When AI generation is enabled, relevant store content may be sent to our AI service provider to generate requested SEO output. This may include selected product or collection data and shop settings such as title, vendor, product type, description, SEO data, tags, images, brand settings, tone, language, country, required keywords, banned phrases, and character limits.

We use AI processing only to provide the app’s requested generation features. If AI generation is disabled or unavailable, the app may fall back to template-based generation.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell merchant data.

We may share information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, including hosting and infrastructure providers, database and storage providers, AI processing providers, and analytics, logging, or support providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or systems, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Applying content back to Shopify

If a merchant chooses to apply generated drafts, SEO Content AI may write selected content back to Shopify resources. This may include product titles, product descriptions, SEO titles, SEO descriptions, image alt text, collection SEO-related fields, and SEO metafields.

6. Data retention

We retain data only as long as needed to provide the app, maintain merchant settings and drafts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Merchant settings and drafts are retained while the merchant uses the app. Backups may persist for a limited period after uninstall, unless deletion is required sooner.

7. International processing

If our service providers or infrastructure are located outside the merchant’s country, information may be processed in other jurisdictions. Update this section to reflect your actual hosting, database, and AI provider locations.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Merchant choices and rights

Merchants may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain data we store about them, request information about how their data is used, or ask questions about this Privacy Policy.

10. Third-party services

SEO Content AI may rely on third-party providers to operate app functionality, including AI generation and infrastructure services. These providers process data on our behalf according to their own terms and privacy practices.
